According to reports from Liberia, a stampede at a Christian crusade in Monrovia’s densely populated region killed around 29 people, including 11 children and a pregnant woman.
According to police spokesman Moses Carter, the rush occurred on Wednesday night when a bunch of gangsters, some armed with knives, moved onto the open-air ground and attacked worshippers.
Meanwhile, investigators have caught one of the thugs who attacked the crusade worshipers and was seen with a knife, while they continue their search for the other suspects.
The bodies of the dead devotees, on the other hand, have been carried to the morgue at Redemption Hospital in New Kru Town, which is near to the crusade grounds.
According to a private Monrovia reporter, Liberia’s President, George Weah, is set to pay a visit to the scene.
